Course notes & restrictions.
Local regulations applicable to this course
Riders’ numbers shall be issued from the event headquarters.
No vehicles, except those of the timekeepers’, shall be parked at the start or finish.
Riders MUST NOT cross the central reservation unless using one of the specific breaks in the reservation for that purpose. Anyone seen doing so will be disqualified and reported to the London West DC.
The order of start shall be arranged according to a method that prevents accompanied riding in any type A event with more than 30 riders.
In addition to the main body number competitors on solo machines must prominently display a number on a fluorescent or reflective background of not less than 8x8cm. This smaller number shall be positioned on the left upper arm so as to be clearly visible from the front when in the normal riding position. In tandem events the front rider shall wear the arm number as described above
NEW REGULATION
For safety reasons, riders' hands MUST be on the widest part of the handlebar whilst rounding the Coxbridge Roundabout at the Farnham end of the A31. Any rider seen contravening this regulation will be reported to the Event Secretary and disqualified.
Risk Assessment.
This course uses roads approved by the government for use by cycles and risks are those encountered in everyday use.
At the start riders may congregate waiting to start so a sign should be placed warning drivers approaching from behind the riders that a cycle event is in progress.
IN THE INTERESTS OF YOUR OWN SAFETY
Cycling Time Trials and the event promoters strongly advise you to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard.
In accordance with Regulation 15 ALL JUNIOR competitors MUST wear Protective Hard Shell Helmets.
It is recommended that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position visible to following road users and is active whilst the machine is in use.
