Race numbers and sign-on
Will be at the HQ near the Result Board. Return to the HQ at the finish to exchange your number for a lovely cup of tea or coffee.
HQ
Biddisham Village Hall on A38 in Biddisham Village, north of Biddisham Lane. Open from 5.30am. Hall is on the right when approaching from Bristol. There is restricted parking but parking is possible in the layby on the A38 a hundred yards or so north of HQ. Please be considerate of the locals and park responsibly. Consider sharing lifts where possible. Whilst you might be full of the joys of spring at stupid o’ clock on a Sunday morning, it’s unlikely the good people of Somerset share your enthusiasm. Please avoid excessive turbo use or loud door slamming. You don’t really need to warm up for a 50 anyway.
Note
SHOUT your number as you pass the Timekeeper at the finish. Avoid U-turns especially in the vicinity of the start and finish. Please show consideration for other road users. Be aware of the course, this is a 2 circuit race with a funny extra bit towards Burnham and several roundabouts. There will be marshalls on the key turns but the onus is on you to know the course.
Safety
Riders are strongly advised to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard, and show a red flashing rear light. Please keep your head up for a safe ride. Watch out for the raised kerb on the mini-roundabout in Highbridge.
Getting to the Start
Turn left out of the HQ and ride along the A38 northwards for approximately 2 miles. Pass through Lower Weare village and the start is in the long lay-by on your right.
At Finish:
Return your Number in exchange for lovely breakfast goods and a cup of char. Please stay for the presentation of prizes.
