Event HQ, Heather Lad public house (open from 6.00pm) Sat Nav. DH6 4QD.
Leave A1M at junction 61 (Durham Services). Take exit signed A688 Peterlee. At roundabout take 1st exit left signed A688 Peterlee. After 1.4 miles turn right at roundabout signed Quarrington Hill. The HQ is approximately ¾ mile along the road at the top of the hill. Please note there is no sign on the outside of the building.
The event is on the unclassified road 27.10, that runs off the Bowburn bypass, towards Quarrington Hill. The start is approximately 500m past the ‘Y’ junction to Old Cassop, opposite the gate post to the field to the south of the road. Continue up the hill towards Quarrington Hill to the finish which is in line with the traffic sign before the Heather Lad public house. The distance is approximately 900 meters.
In the interest of your own safety Cycling Time Trials and the event promoters strongly advise you wear a hard shell helmet that meets an internationally accepted safety standard. It is also recommended that a working rear light either flashing or constant is fitted to the machine in a position clearly visible to following road users and is active whilst the machine is in use.
Numbers
The numbers will be available from the event HQ, The Heather Lad public house, at the top of the hill.
All riders to “Sign On” when collecting numbers.
Please return numbers afterwards in exchange for refreshments.
A copy of the risk assessment will be displayed in the HQ. Any other significant risks that have been identified on the day of the event will be displayed in this area.
Parking
Parking is available at the HQ.
No cars other than the Event Officials, to be parked at the Start/Finish area.
No U turns in sight of the start or finish.
No ‘warming up’ by riders on the course after the event has started.
No ‘Turbo Trainers’ are to be used for warming up within 100metre of inhabited properties.
In the interests of your own safety, Cycling Time Trials and the Event promoters, strongly advise all riders to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard.
All competitors under the age of 18 years MUST wear a properly affixed helmet, which must be of hard/soft shell construction.
