
Event Headquarters
All competitors must sign on at the event headquarters at Boldre War Memorial Hall, Pilley Street, Boldre, near Lymington SO41 5QG.
Cycling shoes with cleats or shoe plates must not be worn in the hall.
It takes about five minutes to cycle to the start, but 10 minutes is recommended.
A cup of tea or coffee will be provided free to competitors following the return of their number.
There is car parking at the hall. There is also roadside parking in Pilley Street and in the Forestry Commission car park near the start in Norleywood Road.
Cycling Time Trials and the event promoters, New Forest Cycling Club, strongly advises that all competitors wear a hard shell helmet that meets an internationally accepted safety standard.
In accordance with CTT Regulation 15, all junior competitors must wear protective hard shell helmets.
It is also recommended that a working rear light, either constant or flashing, is fitted to bicycles in a position visible to other road users, and is active while the machine is being used.
Warming up is not allowed on the course while the event is underway.
Note: Cattle grids can be crossed safely at speed provided they are traversed at right angles to the grid bars.
Warning: Most of the course is surrounded by New Forest land where ponies and cattle graze, very often on the roadside verges. Great care must be taken by all competitors not to startle or collide with forest animals, which are owned by New Forest commoners. Observers may be present on the course.
Competitors are also asked to treat residents and other road users with respect.
