HEADQUARTERS and PARKING
Event Headquarters is the Village Hall (Willow Bridge Lane) at Dalton, near Topcliffe. The village lies to the south of the Thirsk by-pass. Access the village via the A168 junction at Topcliffe, or from A19, south of Thirsk. Turn into either Moor End Lane (signed Dalton) or Low Lane (signed Sessay, Dalton). Body-numbers, signing-on sheets, result board and refreshments will be located here. Please return your numbers after your ride. Showers are available. Please park sensibly, and do not block entrance to rear car-park. DO NOT PARK in entrance to Shepherd Homes show house.
SHOE-PLATES ARE NOT TO BE WORN IN MAIN HALL
It is approx. 5.5 miles from the HQ to the start, so allow plenty of time to get there. From HQ turn left on Willow Bridge Lane, next left and follow road to junction with A168 slip-road at Topcliffe. Left (CTT arrow), under A168 DC, down Topcliffe High Street, over R.Swale, then next right(CTT arrow) into Park Road. Continue to T-junction (road to Baldersby) where right (CTT arrow), then next left(CTT arrow) to Rainton village. Proceed past Lamb Inn to village green,where left past Methodist Church, to Rainton Lane. (CTT arrow). This route is shorter than going via dual carriageway to Dishforth, then up Rainton Lane.
No cars up Rainton Lane to start please !
NO PARKING, other than for Officials at the start or finish. Also there is to be no parking in road into Dishforth, or in Rainton Lane (POLICE REQUEST).
ADDITIONAL PARKING is available down the slip-road from the A168 Northbound to Asenby. To get to the start from here, turn left at Asenby X-roads, continue north to join route to Rainton as above (3 mls).
In the interest of your own safety, CYCLING TIMETRIALS, and the Event Promoters strongly advise you to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard.
It is recommended that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position clearly visible to following road users, and is active whilst the machine is in use.
NB. Junior & Juvenile riders MUST wear an approved Hard Shell Helmet (reg.15).
Riders must not stop at the finish - continue on A168 to slip-road to Dishforth, cross over A168 to join A168 (north) to return to parking area at Asenby, or to HQ.

PLEASE NOTE: The Highways Agency do not permit the placing of signs, or marshals on the dual carriageway. Marshals & signs will be positioned as near to the junctions as is possible. Marshals are only to indicate your direction, and not to control traffic in your favour. At each junction it is your responsibility to ensure that it is safe to proceed. Keep your heads up, and keep to the left of the carriageway.

There will be some over-lapping of riders on the section of A19 north of Thirsk, between South Kilvington – Ellerbeck (A684) – South Kilvington. This section is covered twice.
At the end of the 2nd lap, (approx..43 miles) riders go straight-on, on A19 (IGNORE MARSHAL). DO NOT TURN LEFT to South Kilvington again.
There will be Observers out on the course. Any reports of accompanied riding may result in disqualification of the riders involved, and possible further action by Yorkshire D.C. The onus lies with the overtaken rider to drop back in order to avoid accompanied riding
RIDERS’ BODY NUMBERS
IN THE INTERESTS OF RIDER SAFETY, AS WELL AS VISIBILTY FOR TIMEKEEPERS & MARSHALS, NUMBERS SHOULD BE CENTRALLY POSITIONED ON SHORTS FROM WAIST DOWNWARDS TO BE VISIBLE IN RIDING POSITION – CTT Regulation 16. P353 of current handbook. RIDERS WITH IMPROPERLY POSITIONED NUMBERS, OR NUMBERS FOLDED TO REDUCE THE SIZE, WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO START UNTIL NUMBER IS PROPERLY AFFIXED.
