HEADQUARTERS and PARKING
Event Headquarters is the Village Hall (Willow Bridge Lane) at Dalton, near Topcliffe. No Postcode for Village Hall, but YO7 3HY will take you to Jolly Farmer Pub, just around the corner.The village lies to the south of the Thirsk by-pass. Access the village via the A168 junction at Topcliffe, or from A19, south of Thirsk. Turn into either Moor End Lane (signed Dalton) or Low Lane (signed Sessay, Dalton). Body-numbers, signing-on sheets, result board and refreshments will be located here. Please return your numbers after your ride. Showers are available. Please park sensibly, and do not block entrance to rear car-park. There is also some parking available on side of road, but please do not park in front of any of the occupied, new properties.
SHOE-PLATES ARE NOT TO BE WORN IN MAIN HALL
It is approx. 5 miles from the HQ to the start, so allow plenty of time to get there. From HQ turn left on Willow Bridge Lane, next left and follow road to junction with A168 slip-road at Topcliffe #. Straight on, under A168 DC, down Topcliffe High Street, over R.Swale, then next right # into Park Road. Continue to T-junction (road to Baldersby) where right #, then next left # to Rainton village. Proceed past Lamb Inn to village green,where left # past Methodist Church, to Rainton Lane. (# - CTT arrows).
NB : the signposted route through lanes is shorter than going up DC to Dishforth, then up Rainton Lane
No cars up Rainton Lane to start please !
NO PARKING, other than for Officials at the start or finish. Also there is to be no parking in road into Dishforth, or in Rainton Lane (POLICE REQUEST).
ADDITIONAL PARKING is available down the slip-road from the A168 Northbound to Asenby. To get to the start from here, turn left at Asenby X-roads, continue north to join route to Rainton as above (3 mls).
