HQ can be found by driving down Church Road (towards church) from the cross roads in the middle of Fernhurst village. Open from 6.30am. Riders must sign the Official Signing-On Sheet at the Event HQ to obtain their Race Number.

Please return number to HQ after finishing where refreshments will be available.

Numbers should be centrally positioned below the waist so as to be clearly visible from the rear when in the normal riding position. Please make sure the Timekeepers can see your number.

THE START AND FINISH POINTS HAVE BEEN CHANGED FROM LAST YEAR BUT THE REST OF THE COURSE REMAINS THE SAME.

Route from HQ to start: Turn right out of HQ past pub on right hand side and go up hill, follow this road along to the T junction (Hogs Hill) with A286 then turn left down through Fernhurst village centre past pedestrian controlled traffic lights and crossroads. The start is located in Glebe Road next to Fernhurst village hall and just past TVR garage. Please keep to the side of the road while waiting to start and do not obstruct the view of the Timekeeper or the Holder-up of approaching traffic. Allow 8 minutes to reach start.

Route from finish to HQ: After passing the finish do not stop but proceed with caution down steep hill (speed camera) and take the next left turn (caution) in to Hogs Hill and follow this road down the next hill (caution ~ parked cars and poor road surface) and HQ is on the left. No times will be given to competitors at the FINISH.

No drafting or following car and no accompanied riding.Any rider observed riding in a manner which may jeopardise his or her own safety, the safety of others and the future of the Sport will be disqualified and reported to the South District Council of Cycling Time Trials. Observers may be in attendance along the course.

Cycling Time Trials and the event promoters strongly advise you to wear a HARD SHELL HELMET that meets an internationally accepted safety standard. It is recommended that a WORKING REAR LIGHT, either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position visible to following road users and is active while the machine is in use

Please be aware that although the roads are generally in good condition but there are some sections with pot holes and debris, mainly along the side of the road, particularly on the A272 approaching Petworth.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS:

take care at the following locations;
              -  negotiating the double “S” bends when climbing Henley Hill
              -  the fast descent of Henley Hill to Easebourne
              -  joining the A27 at Easebourne from Wheelbarrow Castle Road
              -  passing through Petworth
              -  entering Haslemere and negotiating Shepherds Hill.
              -  the fast descent into Fernhurst (after finish).
